DAINGERFIELD — Sophomore running back Kris Boyd rushed for 117 yards and scored three touchdowns to help Gilmer defeat Daingerfield, 43-14, in front of a packed crowd at Mickey Mayne Tiger Stadium.

GILMER — It took Jacksonville and Gilmer the full 48 minutes to settle their game Friday night, as Gilmer’s 34-33 win wasn’t nailed down until Jacksonville missed a field goal as time expired.

GILMER — Just when it appeared that the Gilmer Buckeyes’ homecoming was going to be spoiled rather than savored Friday night, they forced the Jacksonville Indians off the warpath in a flabbergasting finish.

For two and a half quarters last Friday night at Buckeye Stadium, the Gilmer Buckeyes fought hard but had just about everything imaginable go wrong on offense and defense, as they found themselves down 33-14 to the Jacksonville Indians.

Indians to refocus with sights set on Buckeyes

JACKSONVILLE — GILMER — After last week's 37-20 loss to Palestine, the Jacksonville Indians (1-1) hit the button — not the panic button, but the reset button — before rolling up their sleeves and getting to work on Monday with preparations needed to hopefully earn a victory at Gilmer on Friday night (kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. at Buckeye Stadium).

The Gilmer Buckeyes’ road trip to TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) member Prestonwood Christian Academy proved to be a less than an enjoyable trip to Plano for the orange-and-black faithful, as the Bucks fell to 1-1 on the young season after a 42-12 loss to the host Lions.
