Gilmer wins scrimmage with Greenville

The Gilmer Buckeyes won, 4-1, in the controlled portion of Friday night's scrimmage with the Greenville Lions at Buckeye Stadium. The Gilmer Buckeyes and the Whitehouse Wildcats will get started at no later than 5:30 p.m. at Buckeye Stadium. Varsity may begin as early as 6:30 or as late as 7, so get there early to see all the teams in action. Whitehouse is ranked No. 6 in 4A and Gilmer is ranked No. 3 in 3A, according to the Associated Press Preseason High School Football Poll released yesterday. "Meet the Buckeyes" was held on Saturday, Aug. 10. It is an annual community pep rally at Buckeye Stadium on the campus of Gilmer High School to get fired up for the fall sports and generally celebrate being Buckeyes.
