Gilmer High School Football Players to be Selected for U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Mirror Photo / Mary Laschinger Kirby TWO GILMER BUCKEYES, Kris Boyd and Blake Lynch, were selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Jan. 3, 2015. Pictured at the announcement ceremony are, from left, Sfc. Devon Perrymon, Boyd, Gilmer Athletic Director Jeff Traylor, Lynch and SSg. William Franks of the U.S. Army. Athletic Director Traylor said after missing the previous two bowl games where Buckeyes performed, he has no conflict this time and looks forward to attending. The ceremony began with Gilmer High School Principal Greg Watson welcoming those in attendance. The 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour will visit Gilmer High School on Friday, Nov. 14 to select two football players for the 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The Gilmer Buckeyes (10-0) will play the Texarkana Pleasant Grove Hawks (6-4) on Friday night, Nov. 14, at Bobcat Stadium in Hallsville. Gilmer is the home team. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The Buckeyes are the champions of District 5-4A Division II. The Hawks are the fourth place finisher in District 6-4A Division II. Tickets will be on sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the Gilmer ISD Administration Building. They are $5 for adults and $3 for students. All tickets at the gate will be $7.
