FOX SPORTS SOUTHWEST TO DELIVER TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TO A NATIONAL AUDIENCE ON FRIDAY, AUG. 31
FOX Sports Southwest’s Live Texas High School Football Coverage to be Televised Nationally on FS2 IRVING – Just how big is high school football in Texas? It’s so big, in fact, that Week 1 games televised regionally on FOX Sports Southwest as part of its Texas Football Days celebration will be simulcast nationally on FS2. FOX Sports Southwest will televise back-to-back Texas High School football games live on Friday, Aug. 31, beginning with Brock at Brownwood at 5:30 p.m. CT, followed by Lufkin at Longview at 8:30 p.m. The Brock-Brownwood matchup will also be televised live nationally on FS2, while the Lufkin-Longview rivalry game will air on FS2 on a delay at 1:30 a.m. CT. FOX Sports Southwest’s signature High School Scoreboard Live show will serve as the postgame show to wrap up the night from Longview, and will also be televised live on FS2 at 11:30 p.m. CT. Want a game that could decide a district championship? Look no further than Gilmer/Pleasant Grove on Oct. 19. The Buckeyes and Hawks both have title aspirations in 4A Division II. Pleasant Grove is coming off of its first state championship and looking to roll its success into 2018. Gilmer High School and Kilgore High School will be participating in a scrimmage at Jeff Traylor Stadium in Gilmer on Friday, August 17, 2018, with all proceeds being donated to the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation Benevolence Fund. This day has become known as OUR DAY TO SHINE. The THSCEF Benevolence Fund was established by the Texas High School Coaches Association Board of Directors to assist athletes and coaches with special needs or hardships. Scrimmage time will be 6 p.m. for ninth grade and JV teams with the varsity scrimmage to follow after they conclude. Admission will be your donation. The public is invited to attend.
