From The Gilmer Mirror: THE GILMER BUCKEYES finally got a chance to have a home game at Buckeye Stadium last Friday night in the annual Homecoming Game. For the packed house in attendance on the home side, the game turned out to be a nail-biter for three quarters before the Bucks size and conditioning wore down the beastly Daingerfield Tigers in a game that saw an unbelievable 55 points scored in the game’s final quarter! Buckeyes come home to face Daingerfield after successful month on the road

Gilmer has played four road games in a row to start the season and won them all. Homecoming is Friday night against the Daingerfield Tigers (3-1). IN WHAT is probably an unprecedented achievement, the Gilmer Buckeyes have won four consecutive games on the road to start the 2011 season. But, as the saying goes, there’s no place like home. From The Gilmer Mirror: YOU COULD HAVE left the game last Friday night at about 7:45 p.m. and gone out to eat somewhere on the outskirts of Texarkana, Ark., come back to Harris Field on the Texas side of the twin cities at your leisure, only making sure to arrive back at the stadium within two hours, and you still would have seen every point put on the scoreboard in the Gilmer Buckeyes’ game against the Liberty-Eylau Leopards, a contest which has to rank as one of the classic defensive struggles of recent years.
