Gilmer Buckeyes

The Buckeyes rallied from a 19-7 halftime deficit to tie it at 19-19, but Mexia prevailed, 25-19, Friday morning in College Station.

At Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station Thursday, the Gilmer Buckeyes dropped their opening game in pool play against Decatur, 40-33, but then won their next two games against La Vernia (39-25) and Hitchcock (47-28) to finish second in Pool A and qualify for the championship round on Friday. Gilmer will play Mexia Friday morning at 9 a.m. The winner of that game will move on to play the winner of the Cuero-Stephenville game.
