The Gilmer Buckeyes host the Kilgore Bulldogs in a preseason scrimmage on Thursday, Aug. 21.

Gilmer Buckeyes senior athlete Kris Boyd catches a screen pass from McLane Carter, also a senior, and takes it 67 yards to the end zone, capping it with a gesture as if he's crossing the finish line at a track meet. This occurred on Thursday, Aug. 21, during the Buckeyes' scrimmage at Buckeye Stadium against the Kilgore Bulldogs.

The Gilmer Buckeyes will scrimmage the Kilgore Bulldogs at Buckeye Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 21. Ninth grade and JV teams will scrimmage simultaneously at 6 p.m. Varsity scrimmage will follow at approximately 7:30 p.m. This will be the final tune-up before the Buckeyes open the regular season on Thursday night, Aug. 28, against Liberty-Eylau in Tyler. The Buckeyes will not play an actual game at Buckeye Stadium until Oct. 17 against Canton (Homecoming).
