The Lions scored once and shut Gilmer out during the controlled portion of the scrimmage.
In the live two quarters of action which simulated an actual game, the score was Gilmer 14, Henderson 0.

Season tickets for the Gilmer Buckeyes' varsity home football games in 2017 go on sale for current season ticket holders Aug. 24-25, announced GISD Secretary Judy Moore.
Sale hours at the school administration building, located at the intersection of Trinity Street and Warren Avenue, are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., she said. For the season, orange seats are $60 each while railback seats are $48 apiece.
Season ticket holders wanting to relocate from their current seats should purchase the tickets they have now and exchange them on "swap night," set for 6 p.m. Aug. 29 at the administration building.
Public sales of season tickets which are not purchased by existing ticket holders are set Sept. 5-9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location, Moore said in a press release.
Gilmer's opening home varsity game is homecoming against Liberty Christian on Sept. 15. The Buckeyes play road games at Liberty-Eylau and Center prior to that.
Gilmer High School and Henderson High School will be participating in a scrimmage at Jeff Traylor Stadium in Gilmer on Thursday, August 24, 2017, with all proceeds being donated to the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation Benevolence Fund. This day has become known as OUR DAY TO SHINE.
The THSCEF Benevolence Fund was established by the Texas High School Coaches Association Board of Directors to assist athletes and coaches with special needs or hardships. To date over 900 schools have participated in OUR DAY TO SHINE and have raised over $383,000 to athletes and coaches with special needs.
Scrimmage time will be 7:30 p.m. Admission will be your donation. The public is invited to attend.
Kilgore scored three touchdowns in the controlled scrimmage to two for the Buckeyes.
The 12-minute live quarter which followed ended in a scoreless tie.
Gilmer's second and final scrimmage will be against Henderson here on Thursday, August 24.
"Meet the Buckeyes" is an annual community pep rally held at Jeff Traylor Stadium on the campus of Gilmer (Texas) High School to get fired up for the fall sports and generally celebrate being Buckeyes.
